THE DOT CONNECTION

Privacy notice

This notice explains how The Dot Connection uses personal information when you visit our website, apply to the waiting list or use a TDC client portal.

Who we are

The Dot Connection is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. For privacy enquiries, contact [email protected].

Information we use

We use contact details and information about your business, application or support request. If you use a client portal, this may also include account details, business and brand materials, work in progress, learning activity, messages and files you choose to provide. You can choose whether to share a business profile or collaboration information with other TDC clients.

We use this information to review and respond to applications, provide and maintain portal access, deliver requested services, communicate about your account and protect our services. Submitting a waiting-list application does not sign you up for marketing.

How we use it

For waiting-list applications, we use information to take steps you request before a possible agreement. For client accounts, we use it to provide the portal and any agreed services. We also use information where needed to meet legal obligations or for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting TDC. Where you choose to share a profile or collaboration information, we rely on your consent; you can withdraw it in the portal.

Information is shared with authorised people in your workspace and TDC staff who need it to provide support. We also use service providers for website hosting, secure storage and email delivery. Our email service provider may process email information in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we use the safeguards required by UK data protection law. You can contact us for further information about those safeguards. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.

How long we keep it

We keep waiting-list information while an application remains active. Information about declined, withdrawn or inactive applications is deleted within 12 months. Client account and workspace information is kept while the account is open and deleted within 12 months after closure, unless we must retain particular records for longer to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute.

Your rights

You may ask to access or correct your information, request deletion or restriction, or request a portable copy where the law provides that right. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To make a request, email [email protected]. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The portal uses strictly necessary sign-in cookies to keep your account secure. You can sign out at any time to end your session.
